BALLOON FAQ's

We will only supply balloons manufactured by reputable and good quality manufacturers. All finished products are thoroughly quality checked before leaving us in order for our customers to have the best experience.

If a balloon is faulty we will know within 30-60 minutes of it being inflated and we replace it before you are even aware of it. A balloon that has not burst within this small time frame will last if looked after correctly.

Once it has left us it is now the customer's responsibility and therefore we ask:

Give balloons plenty of space when both transporting and storing - they do burst if squashed or squeezed.

Store at room temperature, balloons do not like extreme temperatures. Sheds, conservatories, garages and vehicles are not places to keep balloons. Direct sunlight or next to a fire/radiator are also no good as both heat and the cold will affect them.

They are not toys and need to be treated as fragile. A sharp finger nail, a piece of grit or a key can easily puncture or burst a balloon.

HOW LONG DO HELIUM BALLOONS FLOAT FOR?

This is one of our most common questions and there is no simple answer. There are many different types of balloons and each of them is very different when it comes to the length of floating.

Latex balloons are made from natural biodegradable rubber and that makes them very popular. However, they have pores on their surface and that makes them float for a shorter time as the helium will leak from them faster. We usually fill 11 inch (30cm) latex balloons and those will float for about 10 to 12 hours when kept in the right conditions.

Balloons like to be at a stable room temperature (20-25 degrees C ) as they don't like extreme heat or cold. Helium will expand when it gets hot so if you leave your balloons in i.e. a really hot car, it could make your balloons burst. And when you leave your balloons in a very cold room, helium will "shrink" your balloons much faster.

Darker balloons will attract heat faster too, so be careful with leaving your elegant-looking black balloon in the sun on a hot day.

The floating time for Foil balloons depends again on the temperature they are kept in and how they are handled - careful with children pulling strings too hard and damaging the valve.

In good conditions, our most popular 18inch (45cm) foil balloons will float for at least 3-5 days. Bigger foil balloons will last longer, even weeks!

Bubble balloons can again last for at least 3 days but usually for a few weeks, depending on how they are being handled.

ENVIRONMENT

By far the most balloons we use are latex, this is harvested by tapping the rubber tree in a manner that does not harm the tree.

Each tree (and there are billions) consumes CO2, thus reducing global warming. When latex is processed each part of the product is used.

After the tree no longer produces latex, it is harvested and its wood is turned into lumber. Each year mature trees are tapped, old trees are harvested, new trees are planted, and CO2 is consumed.

We also ensure all other items are recycled. We separate all packaging received and ensure we recycle as much as possible.

SAFETY WITH BALLOONS

We want everyone to enjoy their event and want it to be memorable as a happy time. Therefore it is important to understand the following:

It is possible to choke or be suffocated by an un-inflated balloon or piece of burst balloon.

Inhaling helium is dangerous and can result in asphyxiation.

Children under the age of eight 8 years with balloons should be supervised at all times.

Never put a balloon, or piece of a balloon, in or near the mouth

Inhaling helium can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting loss of consciousness and death

Under no circumstances inhale helium from a balloon or helium tank

Always discard broken balloons safely.

When handled responsibly balloons pose no threat to health, wildlife or the environment. Once finished with your balloons please "PIN IT & BIN IT"
